As a non-profit organization rescuing and finding loving families for 1000+ dogs each year, Bone Voyage Dog Rescue relies on the support of dedicated volunteers to achieve our mission. We receive no government funding. The advisory board plays a critical role in providing guidance and expertise to help us achieve our goals. An advisory board is not the legal governing body of the organization, so you would not carry the same legal responsibilities and fiduciary duties as the board of directors.
We don’t want to take advantage of our advisory board members. Instead, we need their advice, guidance and encouragement and can have our retired volunteers and our employees implement their ideas when needed.
Besides saving the lives of 1000+ homeless dogs and puppies each year, here are 7 more reasons to serve on an advisory board:
- You will make a difference: Advisory board members play an important role in guiding Bone Voyage’s mission and impact to address social needs and issues.
- You will meet talented, interesting people who will add to your sphere of influence: Serving on a nonprofit advisory board provides opportunities to meet and network with community leaders, potential clients, and partners.
