Located on the shores of beautiful Lake Chapala, in Jalisco, Mexico, Bone Voyage Dog Rescue is a nonprofit organization that was established in 2018.

We are a volunteer-based organization which is rapidly growing to meet the needs of stray and abandoned dogs deserving a family and a forever home.

We’ve been organizing ourselves into teams, working together to create the best processes that lead to success for the dogs and efficiency for our volunteers. Our volunteers reside far and wide from Lakeside to Las Vegas, Seattle to Vancouver, and many other cities throughout North America.

On Going Volunteers

Bone Voyage is made up of volunteer teams, each of which plays a critical role in saving Lucky Dogs and Cats. Depending on the particular volunteer role, the time commitment can be as little as an hour a month or as much time as you have to give!

Adoption

Assist in finding homes for Bone Voyage dogs by marketing available dogs for adoption, reviewing applications, contacting landlord /vet offices, conducting phone screens, setting up home visits and completing adoption paperwork or simply taking photos or videos and writing bios.
Matchmaker

Matchmaker

Assist in finding pre-approved adopters a great match for their families. Volunteer to suggest available dogs and help answer questions for adopters already through the pre-approval process.

Contract Reviewer

Contract Reviewer

Help us review our dog contracts with our soon-to-be adopters! We are looking for a few detail-oriented, customer service-focused volunteers to walk Bone Voyage adopters through their contracts as well as their animal’s medical records prior to adopting.

Adoption Screener

Adoption Screener

Assist in pre-approving adopters by reviewing applications, contacting landlord/vet offices, conducting phone screens and setting up home visits. Not required to attend adoption events.

Volunteer Liaison

Be a resource for answering volunteer questions as well as helping to keep our volunteer contact list up to date.

Foster Screener

Assist in approving fosters by reviewing applications, contacting landlord/vet offices, conducting phone screens and setting up home visits. Not required to attend adoption events.

Communications and Marketing

Assisting our marketing and communications team by writing content for our newsletter or social media campaigns. Assisting to upkeep our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts with relevant and important rescue information. Photoshop experience is a plus, but not required.
