Lainey is incredible! She was found hiding in a local bakery. The bakery owner said she wandered in about 3 a.m. and wouldn’t leave. Lainey was still there as they were closing so the rescuer took her home.
As told by the rescuer; I was first impressed with her intelligence as she house -trained herself by copying the older dogs and has not made a single mistake in the house. Lainey must have been attacked by a dog on the street as she had scars on her head and face. Despite this prior trauma Lainey is full of love and trust. She is healing well and really enjoying life now.
Lainey loves walks on the leash with her pack . She adores going to the dog park and is discovering that other dogs can be fun and kind. She has learned to sit on command, has no food aggression, is learning “leave it”, and will begin crate training to prepare her for flight travel. She is showing signs of being protective of the house so I am teaching her not to bark excessively at something new outside. Lainey rides well in the back of the SUV and just sleeps or lays down quietly.
I haven’t had to crate Lainey in the house or car as she always behaves like an older trained dog. She was never car sick. At home she follows me from room to room and likes to nap on my feet. She doesn't mind being bathed and really enjoys being petted and loved on. I let her sleep on my bed with the other two dogs. She sleeps on her back and sleeps all through the night. I love this little smart dog and would keep her if I owned my own home. She is going to be a very loyal companion for someone.
