Claire is a confident young lady who has never met a stranger. Bouncy, happy and outgoing, at present she is acting as a "service dog" to her painfully shy foster sister, showing her sister the world is theirs to enjoy and charm. Very intelligent, Claire has learned how to sit when asked (although she's no dummy and demands a cookie to perform the sit). Judging by the size of her tootsies, Claire will probably be a solid medium sized adult dog.
When taken to the local dog park, Claire likes to play with the big dogs. She runs and guns until she wears herself out. While not aggressive towards other dogs, she doesn't back down, and won't take any guff from another dog that gets in her face. There is no question where she stands on a topic, as Claire is extremely communicative if displeased. Anyone who watches her is compelled to laugh at her behavior. Claire's personality is sweet and loving, and she welcomes affection from her humans, but she is not a velcro dog that demands your attention.
Claire has a soft fawn coat, with a white chest and what appears to be a lace over-dress, but is really just her black guard hairs. Her black mask makes her ready for any future pandemic. And, check out that curly piglet tail. Claire's ears resemble semaphores, always changing position to signal her mood.
Claire is cat friendly, never missing an opportunity to maul her foster home's patient and long-suffering cat. She has not been officially tested around children, but with her personality it's doubtful she would have any problems with respectful children. Work continues on her leash manners, and she is mostly potty trained but still has the occasional accident.
Claire is being fostered in Ajijic, Mexico, and can be adopted locally or to the United States or Canada once her veterinary protocol has been completed and she has been spayed.
